Get to know your teachers a little bit...

Ms. Longman - My name is Rachel Longman and I am one of the teachers in KC. I am from the suburbs of Chicago and attended Illinois State University in Bloomington, IL and spent a semester living in Granada, Spain.  I graduated with a degree in Bilingual/Bicultural Elementary Education with minors in Spanish and ESL.  After graduating college, I returned to Spain and taught for a year in Madrid while spending the weekends traveling through Europe.  Last summer, I moved to New York and joined the ICS community as the Spanish teacher.  My greatest passions are traveling, family and running (I am currently training for the Chicago Marathon!).  I can't wait to get to know & form relationships with each kindergartener and family this year.

Ms. Bohn - Hi! I’m Kristie Bohn and I’m thrilled to be starting my 2nd year here at ICS and my 18th year overall. I received my B.S. in Early Childhood Education from Virginia Tech and my Master’s in Special Education from George Mason. I also have a Gifted Teaching and a Mentor Teacher Endorsement on my license. I taught 1st grade for 14 years in Loudoun County, VA (a suburb of DC). I transitioned to the school’s Gifted Resource Teacher for my final 2 years in Virginia. I am looking forward to a fabulous new school year and getting to know all of our sweet, new “pumpkins!”

Ms. Stephanie - Welcome Kindergarten Families! My name is Stephanie Padilla but I go by Ms. Stephanie. This is my second year returning to ICS alongside Ms. Bohn as her TA. Once I am done with this semester I will have my B.S. in Human Services. Then I plan to obtain my Master’s in Physical Therapy. I am looking forward to this wonderful new school year and getting to know your little loved ones better.
